CHOOSE CONSCIOUSLY: PACKAGING
Research
Introduction
The work carried out in the Final Synthesis Laboratory revolved around food and its consequences for the human beings and the environment. It was a project of considerable size of data, conceptual and visual research, as well of artifact's complexity, which led to a point of no return in my way to carry out a project.
Part of the work was made in a group and part of it was individual: a topic has been assigned to each group, through a card, which was to be developed in a research (the following), a food packaging (below) and an informative video. The text of the starting point of our group was to produce one kilogram of beef requires 15,000 liters of water. To produce one kilogram of rice only 1,500. In China over the last 18 years the consumption of meat in the diet has increased by 150%. For the first time, we did not want to sell something, but raise awareness, work on the concept of ethics and awareness. Choose consciously: Research archive
The first delivery was a box, a binder, which could contain all the articles, the ideas, in other words all the research and conceptual information. We decided to make a box made of plywood, inside which there are tabs with documents: there are four identifiable sections with four colors. To make access easier, especially starting from the index, it was decided to categorize every document with an alphanumerical system.

The second delivery, carried out individually, consisted in designing a food packaging: the food choice was free. The aim was to raise the awareness of the consumer about the consequences that poor nutrition can have on both the human body and the environment. The methodology chosen, in my case, was informative, with a positive and proactive language, in addition to an eye-catching packaging that breaks the mold of this type of food: organic and integral. The chosen product are seven grains, because of their low environmental impact and their high nourishing and healthy properties. It has been done a job of association between the 7 grains with 7 colors, 7 planets and 7 days a week: inside, the label contains information on cooking, recipes and about the impact on health of the specific cereal. The product range consists of cereal grains and flakes: possible expansions could be flour or ready pasta.
